Even if you have a lot of clothes, when it's time to go out, you might feel unsure about what to wear. You may want to find a specific shirt but can’t seem to locate it, or you find it but it doesn’t look good anymore, which can be frustrating. That's why it's helpful to organize your clothes based on where you're going, so everything is easy to find and looks neat. Here are some tips to help you tidy up your wardrobe during the holidays.

What You Need to Clean Up
Start by taking all your clothes out of the wardrobe. Make sure you have a clean space outside to place them. If you don’t have enough space, it can become messy and overwhelming. To make it easier, prepare some items beforehand:
Large Bags: Use big bags for clothes you don’t wear often, like old shirts or sweaters. If you don’t have big bags, you can also use laundry baskets.
Mirror: Keep a large mirror nearby to see how clothes fit. This makes it easier to decide what to keep or let go.
Box: As you clean, you might find papers, accessories, or forgotten cash. Instead of letting them clutter your space, keep a box to store these items temporarily.

Clean Everything Out
Don’t just tidy the top of the wardrobe—remove everything! If you leave clothes at the back, they can get dusty and may never be worn again. To really declutter, take everything out and clean both inside and outside. This way, your clothes can be organized neatly.

Choose What to Keep
When sorting clothes, it’s common to hesitate about what to get rid of. You might keep items that no longer suit you, thinking they might be useful someday. This can take up valuable space. Use the KonMari Method to help decide:
- Do I like this?
- Will I really wear it?
- Does it match my style?
If an item meets all three criteria, keep it!
It’s not easy to fit all your clothes neatly in one wardrobe. Think about how to best organize your clothes and where to place them. This way, you avoid overcrowding and ensure everything is easy to reach. Sort clothes into groups: long shirts, t-shirts, jeans, etc. This makes it easier to see how much space you need. Keep frequently worn items at eye level for easy access, while less-used clothes can go higher up.
Make it a habit to clean and organize your wardrobe regularly. If possible, do this twice a year to keep everything tidy. Adjust the organization based on your space and personal style to make it work for you.
